Who We Are

Access to Shine is a Not-For-Profit Organization working to promote the education of young people in the UK and within deprived communities in Nigeria for the public benefit.
Common ways we help include:

Promoting Education

Our projects are designed to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people. From constructing school halls to establishing literacy programs, mentoring initiatives, and providing essential resources like books, laboratories, and school supplies, we're committed to creating environments where children can thrive academically and personally.

Creating Opportunity

Alongside financing, we support educators in improving the quality of education children receive. Supporting teachers to be more effective in classrooms.

Vision

Access to quality education for all children

Our vision is a just world where every child has access to quality education, empowering them to reach their full, God-given potential.

Mission

Unlocking Potential Through Education

Our mission is to remove barriers to education by providing resources, support, and opportunities for underserved children, fostering environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive to reach their full potential.

How We Work

We  Support – Empower – Transform!

At Access to Shine, our approach centers around supporting communities to remove barriers to education. We provide essential resources, guidance, and opportunities for underserved children, enabling them to overcome obstacles and access quality education.

  1. Support: We work closely with communities to identify their specific needs and challenges. By providing the necessary resources and support, we help create a foundation for educational success.

  2. Empower: Our focus is on fostering environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We empower children by equipping them with the tools and skills they need to reach their full potential.

  3. Transform: We believe in helping children realize their God-given potential through access to education. By providing opportunities for academic and personal development, we aim to transform lives and futures.

Typically, our projects are implemented in areas where we have established local contacts and possess in-depth local knowledge. This ensures that our initiatives are relevant and sustainable.

Access to Shine is committed to ensuring that every project we undertake meets the following criterion:

Community Owned and Driven. We believe that true transformation occurs when the local community is actively involved in the planning and execution of educational initiatives, fostering a sense of ownership and commitment to success.

Our Goal: By 2028, to provide at least 5,000 underserved
children in our target communities with access to quality
educational resources and support systems, empowering them
to excel academically and thrive personally.

Viable vision

The project must be viable with a realistic and sustainable costed action plan

Adequate Resources

The project must have a fundraising plan for project completion, ongoing operating costs and a sustainable future.

Motivation

We belief that “every child has the right to reach their God-given potential. This conviction fuels our passion, drives our mission, and motivates us to be and to do. It is best realized in our commitment to provide children with access to education, to grow teachers, support educators, and live Christ’s love.

Firstly, Access to Shine identifies suitable community projects that meet the criteria. We then support the work through sharing our expertise, providing strong project management and ensuring a robust fundraising programme. We seek strategic partnerships to access additional expertise from other foundations and organisations.
