Ndi Uduma School Project

Every child deserves access to quality education. Yet access to schools—good schools in particular—is all too scarce for children in Ndi Uduma Awoke.

This Community Secondary School is at Ndi Uduma Awoke, Ohafia L.G.A, Abia State in Nigerian. It is a Mixed, junior secondary school that wants to start senior secondary school because of lack of infrastructure they are not able to do that.

Access to Shine first project is to build a school hall in Ndi Uduma Awoke Community Secondary school, so that they will meet the requirement and be able to start holding GSCE exams in this school.

The Vision

We learned that several age grades had come together to fulfil their dream of building a secondary school which would provide their children with the knowledge and skills they needed to fulfil their God-given potential, break out of poverty and build a better more sustainable future.

Despite huge financial sacrifices to themselves, and parents raised funds to start building the school but funds quickly ran out and work came to a standstill.

We hope to build hall, renovate dilapidated classrooms, build Lab and library to meet accreditation requirement, Tackle the teacher shortage problem.

Fundraising Success

Inspired by the energy and enthusiasm of the community, Access to Shine is working hard to raise funds for this project which will eventually allow over 260 children to have access to quality education.

The lent of 2023 has been extremely busy with a few very generous donors coming forward together with fund raising events featuring sponsored walks, school house competitions to meet the cost of the first phase of this school project.

We partner with local communities and impact partners to facilitate projects around the common goal of unlocking God-given potential of every child.

For the first phase of this project, we seek strategic specialist partners in education, project design, and engineering consultancy.

University Fee

The programme relieves families from the burden of paying tuition fees.

Educational Kit

The student receives textbooks for their course work and stationery.

Accommodation

The programme also covers hostel costs for the students.

Living Costs

A monthly allowance to cover food and travel related expenses.

You will receive updates on the sponsored student’s educational progress. This will include their academic review, hobbies and overall personal development.
